Adina Haun – 2nd &
6th Grade Social
Studies
Ms.
Haun teaches second grade. She graduated
from the University
of California, Davis
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, and she received her
Lifetime
California Teaching Credential from the University
of California, Berkeley. She
chose a teaching career because
she enjoys helping others "grow and develop intellectually, as well as
socially." Adina says "the small classes, friendly atmosphere,
abundance of materials and resources and a supportive administration"
are
some of the reasons why she continues to choose the KZV community as
her
workplace. Mrs. Haun has been teaching at KZV for 6 years. Her previous
teaching experience includes work in the San
Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley school
districts.
She
would like parents to know that when it comes to her
educational philosophy, her favorite quote sums it all up,
“Children have more
need of models than critics” (Joseph Joubert).
When not illuminating the minds of KZV students, she
enjoys reading and
in fact she identifies herself as a voracious reader, especially
British
fiction. Also she enjoys many
non-fiction books from a wide range of fields like psychology, history
and
comparative religions. Her favorite
thing about KZV is the people: children, colleagues, parents,
grandparents and
alumni.
Outside
of her KZV
“family”, Ms. Haun has two adult children.
Her son Aren is in graduate school at New
York’s Columbia
University
and her art historian
daughter Andrea is now studying pre-med.
