Class of 1998

Arda is a Class of 1998 alumna. After KZV Arda attended Burlingame High School for one year. Her family then made the move to Los Angeles where she continued her education at Ferahian High School in Encino. During her youth, Arda played basketball with Homenetmen, ran track, danced in Hamazkayin, and became an AYF Camp counselor after many amazing years of being a camper.

Arda knew at a young age that she wanted to be a teacher because she loved children so much. She enrolled in California State University, Northridge, and received her teaching credentials in 2007. She cleared her credentials at the University of California, San Diego. She taught at one of our Prelacy schools, Holy Martyrs Armenian Elementary in Los Angeles until she got married to Christopher Dayans who is a KZV Class of 1999 graduate, and together, moved back to Northern California and began teaching at a school in Millbrae. She says it's her passion to work with kids. She goes into work happy and has never felt like it was a job. It’s special working with kids. They see the world in a different way. They are raw, unfiltered, innocent, honest, and kind. Connecting with kids and helping make a positive difference is one of the many reasons why she loves her job. Arda says, simply, that she loves everything about teaching and looks forward to getting back into the classroom.

Currently, Arda is home raising her second child Nareh who is 1.5. Her firstborn, Areni, is 3 years old and in the Red Group. She says that KZV was her extended family and that it felt like home to her. It's a special place and she can't wait for her children to get the KZV experience.
